Champions League Final Four: Tribe Members’ Breakdown of Who’s Winning It All

Can Diego Simeone and Atleti pull of a major upset? PSG repeat? Arsenal finally see glory?

The Champions League has officially reached the stage where every mistake is fatal and every moment has the chance to become legendary.

This year’s final four of Arsenal vs Atlético Madrid and PSG vs Bayern Munich will be a showdown of four teams with very different footballing identities colliding for a place in Budapest.

As always, our Footy Fans chat has been breaking down their predictions and analysis. Here’s the general consensus.

Arsenal vs Atlético Madrid

A rematch from the group stage will probably look totally different this time around. Under normal circumstances, this may have been the ultimate philosophy clash:

  • Arsenal want control, rhythm, positional dominance

  • Atlético want disruption, emotion, and moments

But on recent form, Arsenal have been struggling in front of goal and sitting back into their defensive structures. And with their latest run of results…pretty unsuccessfully. This could turn into a very interesting defensive chess match, especially over 2 legs.

Key players to watch will certainly be Antoine Griezmann, who is still critical to pulling all the strings for Atleti, and Declan Rice, who is become increasingly dominant in that Arsenal midfield. But lately, he’s been showing a lot of fatigue and carrying knocks that look worrying. Arsenal fans are still desperate for news of Bukayo Saka to return as their offense has been lacking spark.

Group prediction: 55/45 just inching towards Arsenal as favorites.

PSG vs Bayern Munich

While some tribe members are complaining about a potential boring matchup in the other semi, this matchup should bring power and excitement to the table.

  • PSG = elite individuals + fluid attack

  • Bayern = relentless pressing + direct attacking chaos

It’s hard to even single out “players to watch” considering both teams are outfitted with real superstars. But we’ve managed to identify Dembele and Olise as the 2 players to really keep an eye on.

Group prediction: 60/40 leaning towards Bayern.

So, who wins the final?

It’s anybody’s guess. To be honest, we’re all just fighting in the group! If you want to join the conversation, make sure to join Footy Fans on Tribe Chat for banter and analysis.
